A free guide to wind spots

WindChaser is a free guide to kitesurf, windsurf and wing foil spots around the world, for riders deciding where and when to go. Each spot page sets out when the wind blows through the year and from which direction, where to launch, the hazards and the local rules, and the schools, kit hire and places to stay nearby.
Free to use
WindChaser is free. There are no paid listings: no business pays to appear on a page or to change where it appears, and nothing a business does changes the wind figures. We launched in September 2026.
How the figures are made
The wind figures on each spot page are counted by WindChaser from the hourly history of the finest weather model that reaches that beach: how often the wind has cleared a riding threshold, month by month and hour by hour. The weather data comes from Open-Meteo and Copernicus ERA5.
A model is not a measurement, so we check the figures against something independent wherever we can, such as a weather station on the shore, and a page whose figures are not yet checked says so beside them. Where our figures come from explains the models, the station checks, the wind threshold for each sport and how a rideable day is counted.
The rest of each page, the launches, hazards, local rules and businesses, is compiled by WindChaser from published sources. The Sources list at the foot of each page names the wind data, the map data and every photo.
Built with the riders who use it
Spots change: a launch moves, a rule is added, a school closes. On any spot page you can sign in and suggest a change: a fact that has gone out of date, a listing that is wrong, or a pin for the map. A person at WindChaser checks each suggestion and decides whether the page changes, and we write any new wording ourselves. How we handle what you send is set out in our privacy notice.

WindChaser here means the spot guide at windchaser.ai. Other products and businesses called WindChaser, such as alert services, apps, schools and shops, are not connected to it.
