Preluk is a small bay on the Croatian coast between Rijeka and Opatija, with the harbour of Volosko on the far side. It is a windsurf and wing spot built on one wind, the tramontana: a cool breeze that flows down from the hills behind in the early morning and blows offshore across the bay, SURF magazine says.
The offshore wind keeps the water smooth, which the magazine says suits freestylers and anyone working on manoeuvres.
Marotti says the tramontana blows every morning at around 15 knots, and SURF that it is often stronger in spring and autumn.
