Kitesurf rulesUse only the official lift service providers. Stay at least 200 metres from the coast and at least 200 metres from public transport boats. No kitesurfing during regattas. Kitesurfing only in good weather with wind up to 16 m/s. Sources, and their limits

Where each section of this report comes from. Record is measured. Modelled is computed by a formula because no measurement exists yet; it looks like data and is not. Written is WindChaser's editorial copy, compiled from the sources below.

§WhatSourceLimit
01Kite month sharesRecordCounted at 12 kt for three daylight hours from meteofrance_arome_france_hd at 1.5 km, cell 0.26 km from the spot, December 2022 to September 2026, 3 to 4 years a month, December 2023 dropped, no station correction. It counts far fewer windy days than the centres describe and barely sees the dawn Pelèr.
01Windsurf and Wing month sharesRecordCounted at 13 kt (Windsurf) and 12 kt (Wing) from the same series, by the same rule as the Kite share.
01Direction, strength, when it blowsWrittenDirection and daily rhythm from the Garda Trentino tourist board. Strength read from the record.
02The month’s recordsRecordThree to four years a month. ERA5 at its nearest cell counts no rideable days at all here, so there is no independent check: treat the shares as a guide until a station check ships.
03Stays, schools and kitWrittenChecked on each business’s own website or a named rider source, most recently on 27 September 2026. Price bands only where a price is published.
04Tide windowsMissingA lake: no tide. Lake level is not tracked.
05Kite rules, deep water, the switchWrittenKite rules as the Garda Trentino tourist board publishes them; the provincial instrument was not read first hand. Deep water and temperatures from DPC.
06Airports, access, packing, kite sizesWrittenRoad distance from OSRM routing. Water temperature from compiled research and DPC, not measured. Sizes derived from the session mean.

The record

Hourly wind, 2022 to 2026, from Météo-France AROME France HD via Open-Meteo: a 1.5 km grid, read at the cell 0.3 km from the spot. It knows the wind over the cell, not the gust on the sand in front of you, and it knows the bearing, not the coastline: "side-onshore" is a rider's reading of the bearing. Each month is counted over three to four years.

What we could not source for Torbole, Lake Garda

Crowds by month: no count exists for Torbole yet. The Province of Trento instrument behind the kite rules, read first hand: the kite hours printed here are the tourist board’s (sunrise to 10.30 am and 4.30 pm to sunset from 1 March to 9 October, forbidden after 6.00 pm), not read from the instrument. Windsurf navigation rules for the Trentino shore. A water quality classification, and a first-hand reading of the local vibe. A station check on the wind record, which undercounts here. Surveyed launch coordinates. A licensed photograph.
